August 31, 2022 – On July 28, 2022, the Croatian Ministry of Science and Education appointed Ivan Tomljenović, PhD, our remote sensing expert employed at Oikon, as the official representative of the Republic of Croatia in the Horizon Europe Programme Committee in the area of Digitization, Industry and Space (including related missions and partnerships).
As a Programme Committee member, Ivan will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of the Horizon Europe programme in his field of expertise and will act as a mediator between the European Commission and stakeholders in the national funding system.
The committee members are experts and representatives with many years of experience in the respective field of the Horizon Europe programme. Their main task is to participate as national representatives in committee meetings and to represent the views of the Republic of Croatia, including the interests of the Croatian research and innovation community.
Horizon Europe is the European Union’s framework program for research and innovation for the period 2021 to 2027. Its legal basis is Regulation 2021/695 and Decision 2021/764, and it is one of the Union’s key instruments for strengthening the European Research Area, enhancing European competitiveness, guiding and accelerating digital and green transformation, and contributing to Europe’s recovery, preparedness and resilience. This makes it the most ambitious and at the same time the largest transnational framework programme for research and innovation in the world.
We are pleased that the Ministry has recognized Ivan’s expertise and competencies and has included him in the Horizon Europe Programme Committee. Congratulations to Ivan. 😊
