Project name: Plan for the use of renewable energy resources in Dubrovnik – Neretva County
Client: Dubrovnik – Neretva County
Period: 10/2012 – 03/2017
Funding: State Budget
Location: Dubrovnik – Neretva County, Croatia
Drafting of renewable energy in the area of Dubrovnik-Neretva County included:
- Collection of available maps (topographic, satellite, spatial plans), information on existing or planned projects in the county, and creation of the database
- Analysis of the possibility of using certain renewable energy in Dubrovnik-Neretva County
- Multi-criteria GIS analyses of convenient potential locations for wind farms and solar power plants (modelling attractiveness + modelling of the vulnerability of the environment = convenience to accommodate activities in space)
- The selection, evaluation and ranking of the identified location based on established criteria (model vulnerabilities)
- Field test site
- GIS analysis and preparation of maps of values and risks, respectively
- Analysis of the impact on the ecological network (future Natura 2000)
- Analysis of the impact on biodiversity, with an emphasis on the fauna of birds and bats
- Mapping risk maps of significant impact on the ecological network (future Natura 2000), fauna, birds and bats
- Proposal of locations for wind farms and solar power plants for inclusion in the spatial plans
- Proposed measures of environmental and urban conditions of accommodation and construction of solar power plants and wind farms
- Proposal guidelines for defining the terms of the construction of photovoltaic power plants within the construction zone and within the separate building areas for commercial purposes
- Analysis of the potential of offshore wind (offshore wind farms)
- Analysis of potential biomass
- Analysis of shallow geothermal resources and energy needs
