The project included the development of the Landscape Study of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County. The aim of creating the study is to preserve the characteristics and values of the landscape’s character and to improve the condition of degraded landscapes. Conclusions and guidelines are developed for the level of the county spatial plan and recommendations are given for dealing with landscapes in other development and strategic documents.
- The study inventoried natural/biophysical (relief, geological, hydrological, biological and ecological features) and anthropological, cultural-historical (cultural heritage, land use, historical development) characteristics of the coverage area.
- Typological classification of landscapes was performed: separation of landscape regions, general landscape types/areas with a description of a particular type and landscape types/areas
- The value of the landscape (natural and cultural-historical values and visual exposure) with the assessment of the sensitivity of the landscape was assessed.
- Guidelines for landscape protection, planning and management have been developed.
