The aim of the project was to develop a methodology for monitoring of forest ecosystems in the area of the planned multipurpose Danube – Sava canal.
The project included the establishment and implementation of developed monitoring system which included:
- Measurement of tree growth within a year
- Measurement of soil moisture
- Monitoring of the health status of dominant forest tree species
- Monitoring of underground water level
- Micro bioindication
- Vegetation succession
- NDVI-based forest condition
- Preparation of annual reports
- Development of mathematical model parameters depending on the health status and physiological activity of the dominant forest tree species
- Establishing a forest trees transpiration monitoring
