As of July 2019 OIKON is the UNIGIS Study Centre for nine countries of the Balkan region.

The UNIGIS programme offers internationally recognised postgraduate qualifications in Geoinformatics, while UNIGIS Zagreb serves UNIGIS distance-learning to resident nationals of:

  • Albania
  • Bosnia and Herzegovina
  • Bulgaria
  • Croatia
  • Kosovo
  • North Macedonia
  • Montenegro
  • Serbia
  • Slovenia

Depending on preferences, students can enrol in a 1-year professional study or a 2-year Master’s study and could, therefore, be awarded with the MSc Degree – MSc(GIS) or the “Academic Certificate in Geographical Information Systems” from the University of Salzburg.

The new study programme will start in Fall 2020 and new students are already encouraged to apply.
