Analysis of options for improving the hydromorphological habitat conditions for the target species in PEM Potok Dolje through hydrotechnical solutions was conducted by combining assessments of available data sources, including biological, hydrological, and hydromorphological analyses, field surveys, spatial analyses, legal and regulatory assessments, as well as evaluations of potential technical solutions. Based on these, conceptual solutions acceptable for achieving conservation objectives were identified.
The analysis encompassed the following main activities:
- Assessment of the impact of current hydromorphological and ecological habitat conditions on the target species in PEM Potok Dolje, and identification of hydromorphological and other habitat conditions that would support the target species and contribute to improving the population status of the stone crayfish in streams of the type represented by PEM Potok Dolje.
- Identification of opportunities for improving hydromorphological conditions and definition of a range of potential nature-based solutions (measures) that would enhance habitat conditions for the target species in PEM Potok Dolje.
- Presentation of the spectrum of potential solutions to the Client and identification of at least three optimal options in both ecological and technical/implementation terms.
- Detailed geographical and schematic representation and technical description of at least three selected optimal solutions, including the development of preliminary design concepts of the proposed measures, as well as identification of subsequent steps required for implementation (necessary documentation, key partners, permits and legal framework, cost estimates, and implementation schedule/timeline).
- Preparation of the Final Report entitled “Analysis of options for improving the hydromorphological habitat conditions for the target species in PEM Potok Dolje”, presenting all results of the preceding project activities, along with the applied methodology, selection criteria, and project outcomes.
