In the field of Earth Observation and Spatial informatics we specialize in design, implementation and support of information systems focused on environmental and nature protection.

We have completed over 225 Remote Sensing and IT/GIS projects for nature, environment and natural resources management needs, and are present on sea and land, bringing cutting edge technologies to serve nature, environment and sustainable development.

Our work actively supports the EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030 and other Green Deal initiatives, aligning our EO activities with European sustainability goals and UN Sustainable Development Goals.

With over 20 years of Earth Observation experience, we have successfully completed numerous projects in forestry, agriculture, and freshwater ecosystems monitoring. We are pioneers in habitat mapping and preservation, creating detailed spatial datasets for both marine and terrestrial environments.

In 2023, we completed a groundbreaking project focused on marine habitat mapping and preservation, marking one of Europe’s most ambitious endeavours in this field. As a leading member of a large consortium, we spearheaded the creation of the official national map of marine habitats covering 51% of the Adriatic Sea under Croatian jurisdiction.

Mapping of Coastal and Benthic Marine Habitats in the Coastal Sea of the Republic of Croatia and Benthic Marine Habitats in the Croatian Epicontinental Belt

The main objective of the project entitled “Mapping of Coastal and Benthic Marine Habitats in the Coastal Sea of the Republic of Croatia and Benthic Marine Habitats in the Croatian Epicontinental Belt” is to map coastal and benthic marine habitats within the national territory of the Adriatic Sea, which includes the coastal areas and the areas of the Exclusive Economic Zone (continental shelf). The aim is to produce a comprehensive map of marine habitats in order to improve the availability of data on marine biodiversity, including the distribution of species and habitats.

The National Map of Marine Habitats launched – a key link in the preservation of the Adriatic Sea

The National Map of Marine Habitats of the Republic of Croatia was officially launched today at the Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries in Split. The new, unique map of marine habitats for 51% of Croatia’s marine area provides a detailed insight into the distribution of species and habitats and is a key tool for the conservation and sustainable use of the Adriatic Sea. It is the result of two years of work and the knowledge of Croatian experts and scientists.
