The contractor developed the strategic environmental impact study and participated in the strategic environmental impact assessment procedure for the River Basin Management Plan 2016-2021 (RBMP). This also included transboundary consultation pursuant to the Espoo convention. In accordance with the content of the RBMP the strategic study analyses two components of the RBMP: A. Water state management and B. Flood risk management. The SEIA included also the Main appropriate assessment (impact on Natura2000). Content of the study includes:

  • overview of the content and main objectives of RBMP and relations to other relevant plans, programs and strategies
  • Information on the existing state of the environment and possible environment development without implementation of RBMP
  • Environmental characteristics of the regions where implementation of RBMP can have significant impact
  • Existing environmental problems important for RBMP
  • Probably significant environmental impacts
  • Transboundary impacts
  • Environmental protection measures
  • Variant solutions and description of Environmental impact assessment and Main nature impact assessment procedures
  • Summary
  • Main assessment of the acceptability of the RBMP for the ecological network Natura2000
  • Recommendations for RBMP improvements
