October 20, 2026 – Oikon has been selected for three of the seven Thematic Innovation Councils (TIC) being established under the Smart Specialisation Strategy of the Republic of Croatia to 2029 (S3 2029), Croatia’s main national strategy for research, development and innovation in that period.
The councils are advisory and coordination bodies set up by a decision of the National Innovation Council of 1 October 2025. They bring together companies, business associations, research organisations and public sector bodies. Their work covers the entrepreneurial discovery process (EDP), the preparation of strategic plans for each thematic area, and groundwork for public policies and funding programmes for research and development. The membership lists were published by the European Centre for Innovation, Advanced Technologies and Skills Development (ECINTV) at HAMAG-BICRO.
Thematic Innovation Councils in which we are represented:
- Smart and clean energy
- Sustainable and circular food
- Digital products and platforms
Members are expected to take part in meetings and workshops, give expert opinions and share information from their own field of work. For us this is a chance to bring our experience in environmental impact assessment, climate resilience, environmental monitoring and remote sensing into the strategic plans for these three areas and into identifying the opportunities and challenges they raise. The councils also contribute to shaping public policies for the allocation of research and development funding.
