21st March 2018 − a lecture of Oikon’s Head of Department of Natural Resources Management, Alen Berta, PhD was accepted as one of 27 lectures that will be held during the course of 2018 as part of professional training at the Croatian Chamber of Forestry and Wood Technology Engineers (HKIŠDT), which is mandatory for all certified forestry engineers in the Republic of Croatia.
The lecture will be on the application of new technologies in remote forestry research (LIDAR and multispectral satellite imagery). It will include a brief description of the operation of these technologies (LIDAR / SENTINEL 2 satellite), presentation of their application possibilities in forestry as well as the first use of this technology in the Republic of Croatia (estimation of wood stock / forest biomass estimation, age of stands, mapping of fires and land use ).
