Hvar High School students’ visit

October 24, 2019 – As a member of the Copernicus Academy community and in cooperation with the City of Hvar, Oikon was this week the host of the Hvar High School students who take the optional GIS class at their school.

The students, led by their teacher Antonio Morić Španić, learned about a wide range of Oikon projects and became more familiar with Remote Sensing technology.

The participants also attended a workshop focusing on the processing and analysis of Sentinel 2 satellite mission data with a focus on coastal areas and islands. The workshop also served as a preparation for the Copernicus Hackathon, in which the students achieved a remarkable success, on which we also congratulate.

We are very pleased to cooperate with local communities and we look forward to continuing such activities and spreading the knowledge about the Copernicus programme.
