July 5, 2022 – Life consists not only of joyful moments, but also of sad ones. We are sad that our dear Prof. dr. sc. Ankica Pranjić and Prof. dr. sc. Andrija Vranković, both retired professors of the Faculty of Forestry of the University of Zagreb, passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2022.
We, the older generations of foresters, remember them as first-class educators who taught us many things that we use in our work daily. Professor Pranjić, the doyen of forest biometry and dendrometry, and Professor Vranković, the doyen of pedology, passed on the knowledge from the disciplines on which we built the beginnings of Oikon and the development of the first major projects. We are therefore infinitely grateful that we had the honour to learn from our dear professors.
Our sincere condolences go to the family, friends and colleagues from the Faculty of Forestry at the University of Zagreb.
