8th Advanced Training Course on Land Remote Sensing

14 September 2018 – Our expert Davor Korman spent five days at the University of Leicester participating at the 8th Advanced Training Course on Land Remote Sensing, organized by the European Space Agency (ESA).

He learned about the application of radar and optical satellite sensors in the field of environmental science, land cover mapping, forest ecology, biomass estimation, flood and fire mapping, surface deformation measurements, surface temperature measurements and urban planning.

At the workshop, Davor also held a poster presentation on machine learning application and Sentinel 2 for the needs of modeling forest biomass, which was a result of a project led by Alen Berta, PhD. We are proud that Davor’s poster was selected the best scientific poster on the workshop, for which he received an award and a 3D-printed crystal model of Sentinel 2.

As part of the workshop, participants also visited Leicester Space Center.
