As part of the pre-construction bird monitoring for SPP Alpha conducted from March 2024 to the end of July 2024, monthly reports were prepared on the conducted research:
- processing of the results of recorded bird species in the planned SE area,
- analysis of the results of recorded bird species in the planned SE area.
A research was conducted by observing the overflights, using the Vantage Point method, of species that may use the solar power plant area for habitation and nesting.
The recorded overflights were analyzed in a GIS environment.
Additional surveys of nesting raptors (primarily Circaetus gallicus) were conducted and the potential areas of the species’ territory were analyzed.
Surveys of nesting songbirds were conducted using the Point Count method.
Surveys of the presence of the Hazel Grouse (Tetrastes bonasia) were conducted in the narrower and wider SE area using the camera trap method.
Surveys of nocturnally active species (Strigiformes and European nightjar Caprimulgus europaeus) were conducted.
