Contract for development of Environmental and Social Compliance Report on the MARS project

10 September 2018 – Oikon Ltd. – Institute of Applied Ecology signed a contract with Ministry of Sea, Transport and Infrastructure for expert and coordination services for preparation of the Modernization and Restructuring of the Road Sector ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL COMPLIANCE REPORT of the “Implementing Agencies’” (HC, HAC and ARZ) management systems and operations.

Oikon’s tasks are to coordinate efforts of the Implementing Agencies during comprehensive analysis of environmental and involuntary resettlement and land acquisition as well as occupational safety policies and practices and will compile the final Environmental and Social Compliance Report (ESCR).

Modernization and Restructuring of the Road Sector (MARS) Project is a World Bank financed operation implemented by Ministry of Sea, Transport and Infrastructure addressing the road transport efficiency and sustainability in Croatia. Amongst many other activities, the project finances issuance of guarantees to enhance road companies’ credit quality. The new and rescheduled debt will be used to restructure/replace a substantial portion of road sector companies’ existing commercial loans.
