Initial survey of habitat type 3260 – Water courses of plain to montane levels with the Ranunculion fluitantis and Callitricho-Batrachion vegetation

Project name: Initial survey of habitat type 3260 – Water courses of plain to montane levels with the Ranunculion fluitantis and Callitricho-Batrachion vegetation

Client: Krka National Park

Period: 05/2024 – 12/2024
Location: Croatia

The aim of this project was to carry out an initial survey as a basis for further monitoring of habitat 3260 – watercourses with Ranunculion fluitantis and Callitricho-Batrachion vegetation in the area of the Krka National Park.

As part of the project, previous data on the habitat type and typical species of hydrophytes at the level of the national park were collected. The field part of the project covered 9 sites within the boundaries of the national park in places where the conditions for habitat development were met. At sites with a positive finding of a habitat type, the status of the habitat type was assessed by analysing the elements of species composition, area of the habitat type and water quality. The methodology for monitoring these elements is taken from the Oikon d.o.o. – Institute of Applied Ecology, 2023.

Further, the current quality of habitat 3260 in the Krka National Park was assessed and guidelines for further management were developed, including the monitoring period, field form and habitat quality parameters. The project also identified the need for further field surveys, as certain locations and parts of the river are difficult to access.

The results of the project are presented in the form of a final report and spatial data in GIS format (.shp) and in the HTRS 96/TM coordinate system (in the officially valid coordinate system of the Republic of Croatia).
