Project name: Mapping of the target species amethyst meadow squill in the Wider area of Krka National Park
Client: Krka National Park
Period: 04/2024 – 9/2024
Location: Croatia
The aim of this project was to map in detail the habitats of the amethyst meadow squill in the area of the ecological network HR2000918 The wider area of the Krka National Park and to create a basis for further monitoring of the species.
As part of the project, previous data on the amethyst meadow squill were collected at the level of the national park, but also at the national level. The field part of the project included 19 field sites within the boundaries of the ecological network in habitats suitable for the species. At sites with a positive finding of the species, the status of the population was assessed by evaluating the elements of population size and habitat quality for the species. The method for monitoring the above elements is taken from Oikon d.o.o. – Institute of Applied Ecology, 2023. The project assessed the current status of amethyst meadow squill populations in the area of the ecological network HR2000918 Wider area of the Krka National Park and developed guidelines for further management, which include the monitoring period, field form, population, habitat quality parameters and potential threats to the species that need to be addressed.
The project also proposed a framework for further conservation measures, as localities that need to be restored or systematically maintained were identified.

Implementation of this project contributes to the following Sustainable Development Goals:
