October 18, 2019 – our delegation has just returned from Tirana where we, together with Ministry of Tourism and Environment of the Republic of Albania, the World Bank and an implementing partner, Abkons, initiated the development of a new generation of „Integrated Forests and Pasture Management Plans“ in Has and Maliq municipalities in Albania.
This pioneering project will lay the foundations for a new way of managing the forests and pastures of the Republic of Albania, which, in addition to using advanced technology, will contain all elements of nature protection, transparent and inclusive decision-making in the process of planning and caring for socio-economic aspects of the well-being of the population. These activities will be carried out under the project: „Development of Integrated Forests and Pastures Management Plans in Two Municipalities (Has and Maliq) in Albania (Contract II)“.
With the same Albanian partner we have also initiated the implementation of another UNDP-funded project: „Development of a study on landscape of Llogara and Dajti National Park in Albania“.
We are extremely excited and looking forward to implementing these projects, as well as transferring our experience and knowledge to our Albanian colleagues.
