May 12, 2025 – we are proud to have co-organised the successful hybrid workshop “Data-Driven Framework for Sustainable Offshore Wind Development,” held under the sponsorship of the Australian Centre for Offshore Wind Energy (ACOWE).
Oikon partnered with the University of Melbourne and Deakin University to deliver this high-impact event, which brought together key Australian stakeholders in offshore wind energy and our expert team from Europe – both in person and online.
The hybrid format allowed for wide participation and sparked significant interest, drawing attendees from Australian federal and state governments, regulatory agencies, major offshore wind developers (including Ocean Winds, BlueFloat Energy, Iberdrola, Ørsted, and others), and leading environmental consultancies.
Oikon project team presented cutting-edge technologies we are implementing in our ACOWE project, which aims to establish a new, data-driven framework for ecological monitoring in offshore wind development. A highlight of the event was a productive, cross-continental discussion on improving offshore wind environmental assessments in both Australia and Europe.
We extend our sincere thanks to our core project team members and close collaborators:
- Prof. Kourosh Khoshelham
- Prof. Daniel Ierodiaconou
- Dr. Marko Radanović
- Dr. Alexandre Schimel
- Dr. Peter Urban
And of course, a big thank you to ACOWE for recognising the value of this initiative and sponsoring the project.
