July 2, 2019 – OIKON has signed a cooperation agreement with University of Salzburg and has officially become UNIGIS Study Centre for Croatia and the region.
The EU UNIGIS programme offers internationally recognised postgraduate qualifications in Geoinformatics, while UNIGIS Zagreb serves UNIGIS distance-learning to resident nationals of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Slovenia. Depending on preferences, students can enrol in a 1-year professional study or a 2-years Master study and could, therefore, be awarded with the MSc Degree – MSc(GIS) or the “Academic Certificate in Geographical Information Systems”. The new study programme will start in March 2020 and new students are already encouraged to apply.
„The fact that Oikon has become UNIGIS Study Centre for nine Balkan countries and an entry-point for students from this region only proves that University of Salzburg has recognized us as a valuable partner with skills and know-how in the field of remote sensing and GIS. We are very excited about this new partnership and are looking forward to recruiting new students,“ said Dalibor Hatić, CEO of Oikon.
Coordinator of UNIGIS Zagreb is Ivan Tomljenović, PhD.
