April 22nd, 2020 – Oikon, as a part of a pan-European team of land monitoring experts and the only company from the region, is participating in the biggest Earth observation project in Europe so far, of which we are very proud.
The winning consortium consists of 14 companies and research institutions from 11 EEA member countries under the lead of GAF AG from Germany (link) and will work on the implementation of the CLC+ Backbone, the new ground-breaking standard in Copernicus Land Monitoring (link). This unique product will constitute a key element in monitoring the European Green Deal and strengthen Europe’s position as a global leader in tackling climate change issues.
The framework contract awarded by the European Environment Agency EEA (Link) is worth 10 million euros.
