February 17, 2023 – The 58th Croatian and 18th International Symposium on Agriculture (SA2023) and the International Summit on Renewable Energy (INSORE2023) were held in Dubrovnik from 11 to 17 February. OIKON was the gold sponsor of these events, whose main objective was to present and discuss possible solutions for implementing climate-friendly innovations, renewable energy technologies and agronomic solutions in practice.
The summit and symposium gathered more than 500 participants from Croatia and abroad, including members of the academic community, non-governmental organisations, representatives of the profession, ministries, institutions, local self-government units and others.
At the symposium, Dr Vladimir Kušan, Director of the Oikon Institute, presented Oikon’s activities in the fields of agronomy and renewable energy.
We also had a poster presentation “The application of the EMBAL methodology to assess grasslands of high nature value” by authors Ana Đanić, Nela Jantol, Lovro Turkalj, Martina Šašić Kljajo and Zrinka Mesić. The poster was selected as the best poster presentation in the biodiversity conservation session.
SA2023 and INSORE2023 were organised by the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Zagreb and the Faculty of Agrobiotechnical Sciences of the University of Osijek (FAZOS). The events were held under the auspices of the Croatian Parliament.
