March 2, 2021 – What is geodiversity and why it is important? Watch the video below and find out from our team members: biologist Ksenija Hocenski, geologist Lea Petohleb and biology placement student at Nottingham Trent University Katarina Miler.
We made the video to support the initiative for the establishment of an International Geodiversity Day.
The initiative was started by Prof José Brilha from University of Minho, Portugal, Prof Murray Gray from Queen Mary University of London, UK, Dr Jack Matthews from Oxford University Museum of Natural History, UK, and Prof Zbigniew Zwoliński from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Poland.
International Geodiversity Day is supported by organisations from 40 countries and all continents and we are happy to have contributed with this video which has also been published on the initiative’s official website: Link
Visit their website and learn what you can do to help increase worldwide understanding and awareness of geodiversity and geoheritage issues!
Big thanks to our experts Ksenija, Lea and Katarina for their efforts and the enthusiasm they have shown on this project. Thanks also to Matej Kopecki for making the video. 🙂
